For the Birds Festival! - August 17th, 2025

Save a Bird or Even a Farm: COME TO WHITE CAPS WINERY in CHAUMONT NY FOR A BIRD FESTIVAL ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 17, 2025 TO LEARN ABOUT SAVING AND PROMOTING HABITAT FOR THE BIRDS!

Along with Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust, White Caps is supporting local clubs and agencies that celebrate and care for birds and habitat in our area. Please join us from noon to 5:00 PM on Sunday.

Featured speaker will be Irene Mazzocchi (DEC, retired) at 2:00 PM: Wings Over the Grassland, Wetland and Forest. As a wildlife biologist & respected authority on wildlife conservation, Irene brings a current story of the state of birds. Other presenters will be active throughout the afternoon. During the afternoon, also visit booths & learn:

• what's happening with birds in our area (DEC)
• resources for protecting farms and grasslands through succession planning (JC Economic Development)
• bird identification (DEC)
• monitoring programs, such as Common Tern studies (Save the River)
• land trust preserves open to the public (OBI, TILT, and Tug Hill Tomorrow)
• wildlife rehabilitation efforts and suggestions for feeding ducks and geese on our waterways (Sue Rhyn-Burns, Wildlife Rehabilitator)
• best plants and trees to support bird habitat (Cornell Cooperative Extension, wildlife plants nurseryman, Colin Withers)
• connections to other bird lovers, tours, & lectures (The North Country Bird Club)
• and free for everyone attending: the National Wildlife Magazine article on creating wildlife & bird habitat on small patches of land & backyards

To celebrate the birds, White Caps Winery will also offer bottles of Riesling, featuring the celebrated decoy carving of Wood Ducks by Dwayne Benney at 25% off, on sale just for this event!

Springfest - June 7th, 2025

Springfest, a vendor fair, will take place on June 7th, with vendors, music, and food from the Chaumont Volunteer Fire Department, partners we are happy to share the event with! Visit the winery from 10:00 AM through 6:00 PM and enjoy a free tasting of four wines free during this event!

Come shop, sit on the porches, take a hike with your dog, or sit by the bay on our 50 foot dock and soak up the sun. As always, we continue our tradition of a destination with craft beers, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages to make your stay fit your tastes!

What's better than running? Well, running with a glass of wine at the end, of course! Join us for this inaugural event that takes runners around scenic Point Salubrious. The course is a fast and flat out-and-back around the Point, starting and ending at the charming White Caps Winery where runners can enjoy a free beverage!

Each runner will receive a custom medal, event t-shirt, and one free beverage!
